The season started with generous rainfall in late winter and early spring. In fact, more than a majority of the annual rainfall was received in February and March alone. As the growing season progressed, the weather remained temperate and stable, allowing for a smooth and consistent bud break and flowering period. August brought the expected heat waves characteristic of Paso Robles, ensuring that the vines received the warmth necessary for optimal grape development.

When harvest time arrived, the intense heat waves subsided, creating ideal conditions for picking. Unlike the triple-digit spikes experienced in October 2017, the temperatures during the 2018 harvest never rose above 85 degrees Fahrenheit. These optimal conditions resulted in fruit with a beautiful maturation and elegance. The 2018 vintage has power and elegance, qualities that are expected to improve with age, making it a standout year for wine enthusiasts and collectors alike.
