BENOM Named One of the Best Wineries to Visit in Paso Robles

Arnaud and Guillaume Fabre, sixth-generation French winemakers and founders of BENOM, proudly announce the acquisition of their estate just eight years after their first vintage release in 2015. BENOM purchased a 60-acre property located in the York Mountain AVA of Paso Robles, marking a significant milestone for the brand’s growth.

The estate’s land, until now, has never been planted with vineyards. The previous owner utilized the property as a residence and for cattle farming. Over the next decade, BENOM plans to transform the estate with a vineyard, winery, and tasting room

With 25 plantable acres, the Fabre brothers have recently planted 20 acres with rootstock in the summer of 2024. The property has both clay and limestone soil, which is ideal terroir for Bordeaux and Rhône varietals. The brothers aim to continue their current unique red and white blends and later expand their offerings.

“Acquiring our own property feels like a dream come true, especially after nearly a decade since crafting our first vintage. This new chapter is not just a milestone; it's an opportunity to elevate our passion for farming and provide a base for future operational building development,“ Arnaud and Guillaume explained. “The ability to cultivate the grapes ourselves means we can fine-tune every aspect of the growing process, ensuring that each bottle we produce embodies the essence of our vision and dedication. We anticipate turning this land into a thriving destination.”

The Fabres will continue sourcing from their current Adelaida, Willow Creek, and Edna Valley District partners, but plan to plant Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Syrah, and Sauvignon Blanc on their estate.

BENOM was born as a way to showcase their love for winemaking and to pay homage to their Bordeaux and Languedoc-Roussillon heritage. The brothers were inspired by the French word “binôme,” meaning two working together perfectly. With Guillaume as the skilled vigneron and Arnaud expertly leading the winery’s operation, this duo is eager to grow the BENOM brand with its new estate.

As the vineyard grows and tasting room construction begins, the current BENOM tasting room in Tin City remains open for appointments.
