THE STRUCTURE

Deep-rooted in the clay and limestone of the west side, this polished expression of the nascent Paso Robles terroir is extraordinary. This wine is characterized by a meticulous approach to Cabernet Sauvignon grown in Paso. An elegant Bordeaux style with minerally driven tannins and an opulent finish, Origin’s refined and enchanting aromas never cease to enliven and captivate the senses.

18 months in 60% new French oak and 40% neutral oak

Tasting Notes

The 60% new French oak used to age the 2017 Origin from Hawks Hill Ranch and Denner Vineyard is integrated seamlessly, starting with an intense nose of black currant, espresso foam, caramel, and crushed black rocks. The tannins are firm in structure yet soft and almost foamy to the touch, carrying dynamic flavors of char, coffee, fresh fruit, and, on the finish, vanilla paste.
